Mierony: A category of irony, including all commentary on judicial nominations that is ironic given the source's position on the nomination of Harriet Miers.
Example: Jonah Goldberg's upset with Polipundit's unfairness to the prospect of a McConnell nomination.
TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; Government

Hewittony: 1.The drifting to the left in order to garner more publicity for one's self at the expense of those who trusted that you were what you said you were: a conservative. 2. Brown nosing to the liberal MSM as a way to enrich one's self regardless of it not being principled 3. Coving the WH's back at all costs because the President says so.

post-mier-stress-syndrome with some OCD on the side: The obsessive compulsive act of continued analysis of the Mier nomination long after the debate is over and done with. Note to Hewitt: She is no longer the nominee. There is plenty of irony to go around, including with you, Mr. Hewitt. But it is morning in America, at least on the subject of new Supreme Court nominees. What are we going to do now?

hewitt gambled whatever credibility he had shilling for miers, and he lost big.

I agree. But I don't get this drive to smash allies after the fact. That's very suspicious behavior.

Especially when he gave the New York Times a whining editorial complaining about backstabbing conservatives AFTER she had withdrawn. Nothing but sheer malice and stupidity can explain that.

I don't know why hewitt is doing it - everyone who disagreed with hewitt in the pundit class has been very respectful about it - calling him "my good friend" and saying how much they respect him. He's been the one burning bridges - writing an article for the NY times going after conservatives.
Maybe he wants to be THE blogger for the "we always trust bush" crowd and is trying to build credibility with them by trashing anyone that opposed the miers nomination.
Who knows, really. All that is certain is that any chance that he will be taken as an independent voice is now shot.

I think there's a little mccain-esque vanity to it as well.
"oh, the new york times wants me to write a piece? I have to attack conservatives??? Sure, I'll do it!!!"
