I kinda like this. bravo. is the aclu going to tell me to clean it off my lawn?
Sounds like a good idea to me. A nice way for folks to identify themselves as Christians this season.
There are lots of nativity scenes on lawns around here already each year. A few more would be great.
However...folks...please don't use the really ugly plastic ones from Hong Kong. They're just not nice.
Actually the organization thats doing this has cardboard cut out ones for free. They are really ugly too, but you can't be picky when something is free.
We have one already and we'll put it out along with Santa Clause and the other colored lights. The holy and fun time of Christmas.
"LAKELAND, Florida, Oct. 25 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Dr. Charles Nestor, director of The Truth Matters, is announcing a project called "Operation Nativity" with the goal of having Christians across the country set up nativity scenes on their own property."
I do that anyway.
But I'm not about to use my Christianity for politcal purposes. I am better than the ACLU on this issue.
Good for you, just express your religion for the purpose of expressing it, and thank God you live in a country where you are granted that freedom. Groups like the ACLU would love to take it away.
"is the aclu going to tell me to clean it off my lawn?"
It'd be fun if they tried.
Yes it would, wouldn't it...we could then teach them what the second amendment is all about.
BTTT!!!!
Thanks for the bump.
forget the nativity scene, I am gonna put up a giant lighted cross on my front lawn. Let em deal with that!
This attack against Christianity is really getting the ole' blood pressure up....makes us even more determined to demonstrate Christ in everything and anything....
even in Merry CHRISTmas!
Why not? Be careful, though, if you live in a condo development or anyplace with a homeowners' association. If so, check your covenenants and restrictions to make sure you're allowed to put up large lawn decorations. In most such developments, you're pretty tightly restricted on outdoor lighted displays.
Otherwise, go for it. Do be courteous, though, if your neighbors have bedroom windows that might be lit up too much by your huge cross. They might object, and it's always good to maintain good relations with your neighbors.
Otherwise, I can't imagine anyone objecting.
I live in a house where i have my own rules ;) City doesn't even bother us much here
Merry CHRISTmas, Jay!
