The vast amount of Iranian consider themselves Persian, not Arabic. They despise these non-Persians helping to keep the Mullahs in power.

Per the CIA factbook, Iran is 51% Persian, and 3% Arab. I heard at one point that the Mullah-class is disproportionately Arab. Perhaps DoctorZIn could shed some light.
