"Somebody probably pulled her aside and said, 'Harriet, it's going to be a terrible experience and why go through with it, because they've already made up their minds,'" said Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, who blasted conservative groups for undermining the nominee. Other lawmakers welcomed the move.

Great Senator from Ohio. What a joke he is.

Why oh why are GOP politicians from my state so embarrassing (Ken Blackwell being an exception)?

"Let's move on," said Republican Sen. Trent Lott of Mississippi. "In a month, who will remember the name Harriet Miers?"

Uh.. The people on her Bowling team?

Democrats accused him of bowing to the "radical right wing of the Republican Party."

Well, at least somebody gets it!

Correction:
"After all, she had seen what I did to John Bolton, and she couldn't probably stand to see a grown man cry"

The dems seem not to understand that conservatives are not a wing of any party.

Yup, no bias here. AP is upset that conservatives had the nerve to tell Bush to stand down. They were hoping that we'd just grab our ankles and bite the pillow again.

Conservatives need to eliminate both Voinovich and DeWine the next time both are up for re-election. There is no reason to tolerate either in a red state like Ohio.

All the opinions given are true. But let's not forget the lesson, here. Quite clearly, our lovely Miers' bashers in Washington that apparently gave her such a hard time, got their way. Doesn't that sound like what spoiled brats do? They kick and scream until everybody gives in. And I thought we elected 1 President. However, many others think they are president, too. Is there something wrong with this picture? Does our constitution say that we should elect 1 President, but if any one else chooses to kick up a fuss and do some bashing, they can be the president? Things seem to be along the lines of, (what is right-is wrong), and (what is wrong-is right). Sounds like our nation has become quite confused.
