The president is in the position now of saying to the Dims that if they wanted someone like Miers, they should have supported her.

Miers was killed off by the far right.

Don't blame her withdrawal on the Democrats.

Not really, the right did not like Miers, but had the Dims all started lining up saying they would vote for her, she never would have been withdrawn. So again I say, if the Dims had wanted someone like Miers, they should have gotten on board. They did not and they may not like what they get as her replacement.

That is the risk the Dims took by not immediately coming out in favor of her when the right started objecting to her. Maybe this withdrawal will damage the president enough as they hope to make it worthwhile to them. But only time will tell.
