The faction I'm referring to can't even rise to the low standard of party-over-principle.

They qualify as personality-over-party-over-principle types. And there are suitable terms for such ideologues.

I have to side with ohioWfan on this one. Remember Godwin's Law. I may have the name wrong there, but whoever it is, his is the law that says that whoever compares his opponents to Nazis loses the debate.

Just for the record, I would lay down Inquest's Corollary to that law, which is that you can do it without losing the debate, provided you can back it up with solid facts in making the comparison, but you're not even close to doing that here. It's just nothing but innuendo.
