"The party" didn't force Miers to withdraw; the fringers with the megaphones did.
They are no more representative of the party than Arlen Specter is.
It is time that we made up our minds to get over this Miers debacle. Let's support the next nominee.
The unappeaseables will do what they always do, which is move on to another policy of Bush's that they can bitch about, and commence firing.
This has been going on for the seven years I've been here, and it will continue.
If you want to get back at somebody, cancel your National Review and Weekly Standard subscriptions, and write to the editors and tell them why.
Drop all the postage-paid reply cards in the middle of your magazines in the mailbox, content in knowing that it'll cost Kristol and Lowry $.37 for every one of them.
Maybe I could write to them and say, I was GOING to subscribe, but now I won't? ;)
You're right about the party, and it definitely applies to President Bush. He needs our support now more than ever. The wounds in his back from his 'friends' have to hurt far more than any from his enemies.
