Because as conservatives, we're among family. Also, just because someone on the left makes a charge against the president, that doesn't automatically make it false. Cronyism has been charged by the left and to a large extent, the right has began to see merit in these charges.
You make a good point about that not everyone here is truly "conservative". There are of course varying degrees of conservatives and in different areas. It is also up for debate on what being "conservative" really means.
A Goldwater conservative has little in common with a Bush compassionate conservative.
To get to the point, Bush would receive a lot less criticism if he started governing more like a conventional conservative and stopped trying to suck up to the democrats. It was very disappointing when Bush was willing to go to war against conservatives but it totally unwilling to engage the Democrats.
