question the relevance of religion in the modern world.

You want to look at only what's here and now. Fine. Go right ahead. Plenty of others are in your camp.

You may want to consider your soul, however. And to believe that God is some kind of mythical grandfather in the sky is denying what's really going to happen.

We ALL have the same God, republican and democrats alike. We should NOT let a party affiliation separate us or allow us to pre-determine someone elses belief and cause a divide.

Because when it comes down to it, God will judge us by how we serve him, and how we treat others is part of that. It's sad that the democrats have gone so far off the edge, they seem unreachable. But now is the time we must pray for them, instead of turn our backs.

FYI, I don't have a "soul," however, I do have (a) sole(s)... when I wear shoes, anyway. (Which I do occasionally.) Could you possibly cite some evidence, preferably peer reviewed, of the existence of a soul? If "God" had our best interests in mind, wouldn't he want us to learn about the world he created? Why is he hiding evidence of our souls from observation? So what is going to happen to me?
