No one said we wanted an "evangelical seat" - but how do you KNOW that Miers was not going to be a "good conservative justice . . . provid[ing] a strong criticism of judicial activism to the country and to her fellow justices"?
Nothing in her resume indicated that she would. In fact, there were indications that she was not all that interested in those issues.
