Bingo. What's more, we aren't willing to simply give in to McCain and Reid and everyone else...we aren't willing to run and whimper and hide and pursue the only sure losing strategy (surrender).
We won't always win. But our positive vision for America's future (like the vision of the founders) is one that deserves something greater than a preemptive, unilateral surrender.
We won't always win, but by showing a willingness to fight (repeatedly if necessary) for what really matters, we will get far more of what we want then expecting policy scraps under the dinner table.
