We can only hope! That is exactly what I am after. It is high time we took these DimWits to the mat on this filibuster nonsense! I want to pin their shoulders to the floor so they can never do this again. It's time the Pubbies stood up and showed the American people they are not a bunch of pussies! McCain and his traitors to the party need to be taught a lesson too as far as I'm concerned. What the Rinos did last time is unforgivable. I say kick 'em out of the party if they try this compromise BS again! We control the majority damn it! Why in the hell aren't our elected officials acting like it?!You are right, but the sad reality is that there won't be enough votes to defeat a filibuster, and there won't be enough votes to change the rules (the so-called "nuclear" option).
The reality is that Bush needs to find another Roberts - a solid Conservative who can get votes from Dems. Perhaps someone like Clement or Jones.

I hope you are wrong on this. If the people will get off their duffs and express their opinions as fiercely as they did their opposition to Meirs, I see no reason why we should not be able to come up with the votes in the Senate to Nuke the obstructionists. I believe the American people are sick and tired of the Senate sitting around on their butts doing everything possible to screw the other side. There are moderate Democrats who are pretty fed up with their party being hijacked by the lunatic fringe from the left.
This country needs a good knuckles and blood bar room brawl over this. We elected these people to work for us and or the betterment of the country. The lunatic lefties are forever spouting they are the majority opinion of the country, which is absolute BS, and the only thing they are going to understand is a swift kick in the a$$. Well it's long past due. It is time to start leaning on the pussies we elected and have them stand up for the principals that got them elected. The only way they are going to do this is if we start holding them accountable.
It is certainly apparent to me the conservative voice had a lot to do with Harriet Meirs withdrawing her nomination. Now if we can just get all of those who got involved in this to show as much passion toward their own Reps and Senators failings we might be able to actually take advantage of the situation.
This is an opportunity to put some momentum back into the conservative movement. The worst thing we can do now is become complacent. It would be falling right into the DimWits plans to take our President down or make him a lame duck with 3 years left of his term. Pessimism is our number one enemy.
