"The liberal blog Daily Kos attracted nearly 4.8 million visitors this July..."

When I see numbers like this, I have to be careful that my eyes don't get permanently stuck in the rolled-back position. While this figure looks as if it is meant to be a count of unique visitors, I know that it could equally well be a count of individual server hits. The MSM don't have a good track record in distinguishing such things.

Bottom line, it's just an impressive, but meaningless number.

I am not sure what blogs had to do with that.

The article specifically mentions Glenn Reynolds, who mentioned the speech at the time, thought it a bit tasteless, but didn't over-react to it. The real pelt-hunting was on the leftie blogs. So some blogs had a bit to do with it, but not InstaPundit.

Poor little Trent Lott still doesn't get it. He is still upset that he isn't the leader in the Senate, and does not understand why. GET A CLUE TRENT!!

I don't generally trust Lott. But he has surprised me a little recently.

Today, before he came out to the cameras, he started openly singing, "Happy Days Are Here Again."

It was his reaction to the Miers withdrawal.

He's been a pretty good conservative here lately. I'm wondering if he might be hoping to get back in our good graces. After all, if Frist leaves...

Well, you can't blame him for hoping. And I try to be gracious when I'm being pandered to.
