Three days without power ?

I just spoke to my uncle in Ft Lauderdale. He told me that they have been told to expect no power until November 8.

Depends on where he lives. They go for the lines that will bring the most customers online first. Then work out from there. If he lives in an outlying area then, yes, he could wait a few weeks.

That's why people buy generators. You can't wave a magic wand and expect power to be restored to millions of people. It takes time. I hardly think the government is to blame for downed power lines and transformers. Florida gets hurricanes. Always has and always will and people who live there know that. Prepare for them like officials advise or move to somewhere that doesn't get hurricanes.

I thought I would be without power for four weeks, but got it yesterday. There are a lot of down poles and lines, but FPL is isolating those areas, so one person may have power but the person right next to them not. Good luck to your uncle.
