Please explain to me the point of "being in charge" if "our" side doesn't do what is RIGHT when it IS in charge?

Aren't you asking me why they (Congress or Bush Administration) didn't do what YOU think is right?

In point of fact, it's been found in study after study that most elected political officials 'vote with their district', ie. they vote the way most of their constituents would have voted.

Whether this is because they simply know their district or because their district votes into office people who think like them is moot.

And a President is chosen by all the people so his mandate is framed by the middle-ground voters who make up the final percentage points of victory as well as the base.

If you'd prefer a Parliamentary system, then go to work for it and change the Constitutional system we have now.
