Actually, they took the name of Hazard Kentucky and the alligators of southern Georgia and filmed it all in California.

I'm pretty sure they made some kind of referance to it in the show.

The only Hazzard County I know of is in the mountains of eastern Kentucky. I have alway associted the series with that area. Harlin & Hazzard counties have been known for their fuedin and shinin for generations.
Hazzard county, Kentucky is the only place I haver ever been that you could buy moonshine by the shot over the bar. We bought it at a place called the "MinnieMouse" back inthye mid sixties.
