I suppose McManus will have a presser detailing CBS' rich history as a pioneering news organization, home to Murrow, Cronkite,Sevareid, and Lyin' Dan, and then name a new anchor just like the old one, and CBS News will continue to tank.

Or, if he's really brilliant and ballsy, he could look to FNC and start a true newscast, instead of DNC talking points every night! And fire the entire staff of 60 MINUTES while he's at it!

If he picks Baghdad Bob for a new anchor, nobody will be able to tell the difference, either functional or visual. He even looks like Rather's spitting image.

As much as I cannot stand CBS as currently staffed, I hope this new guy kicks all of them out and starts over with good and decent folks. CBS has become tarnished like NBC and ABC by their greed and dishonesty. He has the true opportunity to do what needs to be done, and if I were he, I would not wait another day. Good luck to him, and good luck to us in getting a real and honest newscast from CBS!
