Unbelievable comment from Ted Kennedy regarding 2000th soldier death - "On this auspicious day..."
Tony Snow & mensnewsdaily.com | 10-26-05 | Doug from Upland

In case you missed it, I hope you are going to be as angry as I am. As the DemocRATS are celebrating the 2000th death of an American hero in the war, they can barely contain themselves. But Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy has gone way over what anyone would consider decent behavior.

On Tuesday, on the floor of the Senate, when discussing the 2000th death of a hero, he actually used the following words:

"On this auspicious day . . ."

I read it at mensnewsdaily.com

Don’t think their[sp they're] celebrating? I give you Senator Edward (the Killer) Kennedy. He described Tuesday’s news of the 2000th death as an “auspicious day.” I guess anyone who can leave a young woman to die of drowning could call the death of 2000 American soldiers “auspicious.”
-end excerpt-

This morning, I the disgusting clip was heard on the Tony Snow show. Just incredible.

A phone call was made to Lifeguard's office to demand an apology: 202.224.4543; Then, a call was made to Sen. George Allen's office: 202.224.4024. The staffer was unaware of the Kennedy comment. It was suggested to him that Sen. Allen could really endear himself to conservatives and patriotic Americans around the country if he challenged Kennedy and demanded that he apologize for the remark.

Make the phone calls if you are so inclined. Military groups should be demanding an apology.

Please, please people. Give him some slack.

How would you feel if you were the only boy in your family whom nobody considered to be even worth shooting in the head?

Change the c in democRATS to an n... Also, it is your patriotic duty, when next in the grocery store, to take all copies of clinton's book "my life" off the magazine rack and stuff them in the back of the toilet paper section.

I saw that, too. The Boston Globe and the rest of the mainstream news media are positively giddy right now. They are convinced that their journalistic Glory Days are upon them once more, with Iraq substituting for Vietnam and the Plame case for Watergate.

Methinks you're spot on.

I did some research on Farragher, and coincidentally, he cites Watergate as one of the things that inspired him to be a reporter!

All the aging hippies over at the Boring Broadsheet make me ill.

Pretty soon, they're going to break out the bellbottoms and fat ties and suede suits again, and march on the Mall.

And when nothing comes of it, they should all be forced to wear microfiber- I mean polyester- leisure suits, lime green in color , wear those ridiculous disco shoes and watch endless reruns of The Brady Bunch.

Oh, and don't forget the sideburns.

"Further information reveals Thomas Farragher is a member of the Globe's "Spotlight" investigative journalism team---the same team that brought to light the Catholic child abuse scandal."

Robinson, the guy in charge of the "Spotlight" team, is the "reporter" who championed the Bush NG AWOL story for so many years.

As one who lived through that era, I did manage to avoid the worst of the truly horrifying apparel that the '70's ethos inspired. On the other hand, my sideburns were down below my ears at one point, and I had rather long hair. When I discovered that I was not a liberal (around 1974, when I saw my first copy of National Review), I decided to start looking like a human being. About the same time, I noticed that some of my (left-wing) contemporaries were utterly unwilling to get past the battles of the '60's - and, amazingly, they still cling to them today.
