i heard several callers on the radio this AM (in DC) allude to a sexual relationship between Libby and Miller, saying they had it on excellent authority that they were lovers. i had not heard anything like that previously.
Its about Libby and Russert.
NBC releases statement regarding Russert's testifying: "Mr. Russert told the Special Prosecutor that, at the time of that conversation, he did not know Ms. Plame's name or that she was a CIA operative and that he did not provide that information to Mr. Libby. ...The Special Prosecutor's questions addressed a telephone conversation initiated by Mr. Libby and focused on what Mr. Russert said during that conversation. Mr. Libby had previously told the FBI about the conversation and had formally requested that the conversation be disclosed. The Special Prosecutor can share Mr. Russert's answers with the grand jury."
Now look at what Cliff May wrote, in Sept. 03.
On July 14, Robert Novak wrote a column in the Post and other newspapers naming Mr. Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, as a CIA operative. That wasn't news to me. I had been told that — but not by anyone working in the White House. Rather, I learned it from someone who formerly worked in the government and he mentioned it in an offhand manner, leading me to infer it was something that insiders were well aware of.
Libby and Rove, both have been given numerous opportunitites to appear, before the Grand Jury, and that would allow them to 'correct' any testimony they gave previously....
Here is WaPo two weeks ago...
The grand jury investigating the CIA leak case pressed White House senior adviser Karl Rove yesterday to more fully explain his conversations with reporters about CIA operative Valerie Plame, including discrepancies between his testimony and the account provided by a key witness in the investigation, according to a source familiar with Rove's account.

Libby's testimony stated that Rove had told him about his contact with Novak and that Libby had told Rove about information he had gotten about Wilson's wife from NBC's Tim Russert, according to a person familiar with the information shown to Rove. Prosecutors, however, have a different account from Russert. The network has said Russert told authorities did not know about Wilson's wife's identity until it was published and therefore could not have told Libby about it.
Russert has not been called back And has been the quietest of all the media parties to this investigation.........Very Curious...(one small detail note, if the AP is lying about the 'different account' sentence, Libby could have learned the Particulars, but not the name,and covert status, and then BOTH statements are true:LINGUISTIC INEXACTITUDE by the press is muddying this up substantially)
Here's the thing. Cliff May used to be a Reporter for the NYTimes. Miller Works for the Times, And Russert USED to be in the Government and is now NBCs Washington Burueau Chief. So I am guessing about some sort of connection in that vein...
And on that note, also Subpeonaed in this case, were Andrea Miller and Campbell Brown...
