Do you prefer that Rush demand they give back some of the money or reduce their costs, ala O'Reilly?

No, but that was a tough time for everybody, still not over, and not really tasteful to celebrate the money companies made profiteering during a hard time. I'm a big supporter of capitalism too.

The only job the government is supposed to do is protect and provide infrastructure. Since they didn't produce stable fuel prices, I'd like to see them pick up 50 cents or a dollar a gallon. At least suspend all taxes on the stuff.

Just how tough what is it really?

I live in a factory town. I work for one of them in HR. I work very closely with our hourly people. We don't pay the highest wages in town. These are people who use gift certificates they earn in our recognition program to buy diapers for their children. So, if the gas prices had really been 'tough' and had created the kind of hardships you imply, I would have been hearing the complaints. Not so, and we just had our United Way drive. We did as well as we did last year (when we didn't have high gas prices).
