WASHINGTON Prosecutors investigating the leak of a CIA officer's identity returned their attention to White House advisor Karl Rove on Tuesday, questioning a former West Wing colleague about contacts Rove had with reporters in the days leading to the naming of the covert operative.

This is the real deal. Who knows where these documents came from and where they are now? Has this been checked out by anyone since it took place so long ago? The forged documents are what this is really about, but this SP has been dispatched to investigate the WH to make sure no answers are found to these questions.
yeah, except for that 'or that she was a CIA operative' bit. While NBC may get away with this ambigious language, it is a safe bet that Fitz didn't let Russert use wordplay to avoid saying what he meant.
