A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

OUTRAGEOUS!!!

A thread about the color green? Why not. (besides I wanted to use my “new“ lily pad backgrounds.) Green.. Endless possibilities - the lucky green four leaf clover; malachite; broccoli; the Isle of Green - Ireland; Show me the Money Green; Green Mansions - a great movie from years past; jade; seaweed; and sKerry - green with envy - as he LOST!

Here are a few green thoughts & Links. Do you have a green story? Green nightmare? Green underwear?

It's not that easy bein' green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer being red or yellow or gold
Or something much more colorful like that

It's not easy bein' green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
Not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky

But green's the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean
Or important like a mountain
Or tall like a tree

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But why wonder, why wonder?
I am green and it'll do fine
It's beautiful!
And I think it's what I want to be

It is scheduled for the 7th but I have at least 3 more appts prior to then. I'm also trying to take care of several things before then.

I'll stop by whenever I can before the 7th but may not do more than say hi.

I used to do a lot of yoga, but I stopped a couple of years ago when I started this degree program. I wish I hadn't stopped - I lost my flexibility. So I'm working on getting that back.

I bought a new exercise bike. :)

I'm hoping to start taking walks again in a couple of months. I enjoy walking ... hope the exercise bike helps to take off some weight.

hope you enjoy the exercise bike. I could never get enthusiastic about equipment. Had a slew of good stuff/state of art in NC, & just preferred the outdoors, rough & tumble way of working out. Recall the last Rocky movie? the Russian was training in all the high tech equipment & rocky was chopping wood & running in woods.. I guess I am more a a rocky(although a wimpy one)

I love red and brown, but red a bit more than brown. Blue is nice as well.

I have clothes in most colors but majority of my clothing seems to go towards the red colors. I am a pretty bold dresser most of time

Toddler's Creed

Read:
Acts 20:32-38

You shall not covet. —Romans 7:7

Bible In One Year: Mark 14-16

cover Elisa Morgan, president of MOPS International (Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers), shared this insight into a child's view of the world:

Toddler's Creed
If I want it, it's mine.
If I give it to you and change my
mind later, it's mine.
If I can take it away from you,
it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago,
it's mine.
If it's mine, it will never belong to
anyone else, no matter what.
If we are building something together,
all the pieces are mine.
If it looks just like mine,
it is mine.

Anyone who has ever known a toddler knows the truth of that creed. We expect to see this trait in toddlers, but we despise it when it's seen in adults. It's called covetousness.

The apostle Paul, who had led an outwardly religious life before he became a follower of Jesus, wrestled with that sin (Romans 7:7). After carefully studying the law of Moses, he recognized covetousness for what it is. But God in His grace changed Paul. Instead of remaining a coveting, grasping man, he became a truly generous person (Acts 20:33-35). And generosity may be the acid test of whether or not we are still spiritual toddlers.

Are you allowing the Lord Jesus Christ to create in you a new, giving heart? Or are you still following the "Toddler's Creed"? —Haddon Robinson

Gratefulness overcomes selfishness.
