Well, Ford's administration was short. I thought Hamilton Jordan got in some trouble in Carter's Administration. There was some trouble there, forget what it was.

Eisenhower had Sherman Adams; Kennedy the media protected; Johnson had Bobby Baker, Nixon, well; Reagan-Iran/Contra; Bush Sr. (I'm not sure); Clinton, well...

I don't think Kennedy ever took an "official" Chief of Staff - Bobby was his informal Chief - I'll look into it.

Yeah - I'm pretty sure now - Google search on "President Kennedy's chief of staff" came up with 2 mistakes (nothing authoritative): Ted Sorensen and Kenneth O'Donnell ; )

Don't forget Bert Lance at Carter's OMB. Remember BCCI? Of course, being a democrat, there was no prosecution. He just went back to Georgia.

You may be thinking of when Ham Jordan looked down the top the dress of the wife of the Egyptian ambassador and commenting something along the lines of having always wanted to see the Egyptian pyramids. Stupid, but not criminal.

And, while he wasn't officially in the administration, don't forget Billy's payoff from the Libyan government.

Of course, Carter's greatest diplomatic triumph was bringing Mugabe to power in Rhodesia.
