Wow... Meth apologists
FWIW, I have never touched the stuff. However, I have talked with one recovered user who told me that meth was far more addictive to him than any other drugs he had tried. Anecdotal, I know, but to me the word of an actual addict is more valuable than the interpretation of data for an article.

He wasn't kidding in regards to the addictive nature of meth.
Meth screws with the brains dopamine production and uptake. A long-term meth addict is literally incapable of feeling happy anymore without meth.
This makes it very hard to clean up. If a 1-2 year meth user tries to quit, they may have to go several years before their brain starts producing and regulating dopamine properly.
Imagine spending a year incapable of feeling happy.
Dopamine re-uptake inhibitors like Wellbutrin (sp?) can help in some cases.
A 10 year meth addict is almost a loss. Their brain will never produce dopamine naturally again.
Brian damage from meth use is also pretty rampant. Not just from the meth itself, but also from the industrial chemicals used to cook it up. Even for new users, brain damage can set in fast if they get a bad mix. Snorting acetone is never good for a person......
