New bumper sticker suggestion:
You Will Pry My Registered Nurse From My Cold Dead Fingers
To: durasell
I know that one about the registered nurse sounds like a big fib. But I have known this woman to be a big druggie for decades. Knew her husband too. They're not unpleasant people, friendly enough.
I was told about it based on info that had to do with the non-trial and the non-tickets. I wondered if maybe the county was trying to avoid the costs of prosecution. As you know, it's sometimes surprising the kind of crimes you can get away in rural counties because it is ruinous for them to prosecute crimes. I can cite some death-penalty cases that caused very significant legal costs in counties I think of as prosperous for a rural state.
I think that one of the reasons the meth labs try to locate in the most rural underpopulated counties is that, even if caught, they have a good chance of just being told to leave and never come back or leave the state. The county attorneys and commissioners are that afraid of the costs of prosecution.
