Islamabad, October 25: Cashing on the devastation inflicted by the October 8 earthquake, Islamists in Pakistan have termed the temblor as ‘God's wrath’ on the country for the decision to desert Taliban and back the American ‘invasion’ of Afghanistan.
Riaz Hussain Pirzada, a treasury member belonging to the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Q, but considered close to Islamist alliance Muthahida Majlis Amal (MMA), told the National Assembly yesterday that the quake was ‘god's wrath’ for Pakistan's support of the US campaign.
God was also ‘angry’ with Pakistan because "we welcomed the holy month of Ramzan by rigging the last phase of the local government elections," Pirzada said.
After the earthquake, the refrain of many of the Islamist parties is that it is the ‘punishment’ for the country's decision to withdraw backing for Taliban and al-Qaeda and support US ‘invasion’ of Afghanistan.
Pakistan's defence spokesman Maj Gen Shaukat Sultan also came under the hammer of Islamic purists. They alleged that he was found having his breakfast during the fasting month of Ramzan when the quake struck in the morning of October 8.
The Religious Affairs Minister of the MMA-ruled North West Frontier Province, Maulana Amanullah Haqqani, showed a newspaper clipping in the provincial Assembly alleging that Gen Sultan was not fasting, thus violating the religious code.
Opposition members came to the defence of Gen Sultan, saying that it was a personal issue.

I knew this was coming, but have been surprised it has taken so long given the supposed quick-reaction ability of these goat-fondling fascists to generate propaganda. I would further speculate the stories of their infrastructure, both personnel and facility-wise, being damaged by the quake are now perhaps confirmed by this.

Actually those Paki morons got it all wrong. The earthquake was the wrath of the Hindu Gods meant as a trailer for what might befall on them if they go on killing innocent non-Muslims.

After reading on FR about the things inflicting "conversion" and mutilation on whole villages in the Mollucas-enslaving and mutilating people in the Sudan-raping pagan women in parts of Africa, while their equally loathsome females laugh, dance, & sing songs mocking the victims-gangraping French , Australian, Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish, and Danish women and boasting about it while on trial-and of course their ongoing efforts to use terrorism to inflict their vile "religion" on all of humanity-I'm not sure you aren't being too kind.
