Is Birmingham [England] on the brink of a race war?

FOR years rival black gangs have waged brutal battles in the maze of streets on the neighbouring estates in Lozells, Aston and Handsworth.

But there were growing fears last night that two of the most violent black gangs, the Burger Bar Boys and the Johnson Crew, may unite against Asian gangs involved in the weekend riots.

According to an internet report, the two gangs — which were involved in the New Year murders of Charlene Ellis and Letisha Shakespeare — have put their differences aside in the aftermath of the riots.

A black music website called Supatrax featured an anonymous message under the heading: “One black girl raped by 19 men, one black youth dead, one Asian man dead, one police officer shot, two girls stabbed, cars getting jacked, cars on fire.”

It reads: “Word outta street is that members from Johnson Crew and Burger Bar have met to call a truce to recent gang warfare and unite against any attacks from the Pakistani community.

“For too long black people have had to stand by . . . this is a time to unite and stand strong not only for the justice of the young girl but also for the black community as a whole.”

Four men, all members of the Burger Boys, were found guilty of the murder of the two girls who were shot outside a party in Aston in January. Marcus Ellis, 24, Charlene’s half-brother, was among those jailed.

A police spokesman refused to confirm or deny rumours that the rival gangs had joined forces.

The three days of violence have seen a policeman shot, more than 30 people injured and cars torched and shops looted.

Detectives were continuing to try to establish whether the shooting of the teenager in the Newtown area of the city yesterday was linked to the rioting.

The teenager, said to be mixed race, was shot in the head and arm in the street, just one mile from the scene of the riots. It is not known whether the gunman was black or Asian. Speaking at a press conference yesterday Detective Chief Inspector Keith Wilson said: “It’s too early to comment on whether these incidents are linked. There have been community tensions in the area. If there are links then hopefully we will make them at a very early stage.”

Armed police attended the scene at about 12.40am yesterday after receiving reports of a man brandishing a gun.

Officers gave the teenager first aid and called paramedics but they were unable to save him.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission was asked to investigate “as a matter of course” but insisted no shots were fired by officers.

Amerdeep Somal, commissioner for the complaints commission, said: “Police had received several reports including one from the fire service of an armed man on the street.

“They saw a man stumble and fall in the road and then approached to arrest him and saw he had injuries to his head and arm.” Mr Somal was among those who appealed for calm yesterday.

"Yeah, diversity is evil, I tell you! Evil! Let's get back to the days where people who were different from us were kept in their place and where we had no new ideas coming from other cultures and building up our own...
Shcmuck. No, wait, that insult's too 'diverse'. Nincompoop."

"No new ideas coming from other cultures"--your're referring to gang violence, perhaps? I'll pass, thank you.

"Building up our own"--you mean American and other western cultures lost in the 12th century until catapulted into modernity by masses of immigrants from the third world? Look at the hellholes these people are coming from and convince me unbridled immigration is "building us up".

Screw diversity. Celebrate competence.

You're absolutely right. Diversity is evil and so are third world minorities, no matter what they do for a living. Yes even if they're doctors they're evil and have no right to seek better opportunities elsewhere. All ethnic minorities are the same (to you apparently) and rioting gangs are just demostrations as to how evil they are.

To help answer your questions:

Yes, there are organised gangs on the streets of the city. The (South) Asians are almost exclusively of Indian sub-continent heritage - e.g. Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Indian. They are referred to, collectively, as Asian here and do not include those communities to which, in the USA, you would apply the definition "Asian" - such as Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.

Similarly, there are gangs of black Caribbean descent.

Both factions fight amongst themselves more often than not and, whilst, at gang level, there is no love lost between the two groupings, that doesn't reflect a more widespread Asian versus Caribbean antipathy.

Culturally, the Asian gang make-up is a mixture of Muslim, Hindu and others but there's no religious agenda at street level. It's all about drugs, guns and turf. As you might expect the media is in its usual feeding frenzy over this incident and the PC crowd are desparately casting around for a white to fit in the frame somewhere - otherwise it can't really be a racist issue, can it?

And, the young guy who was shot was of mixed Caribbean/White parentage.

The PC apparatchiks in the British media are deliberately blurring the issue. It's basically a conflict between Caribeans(some of whom are mixed race) and Pakistani and other TROP adherents.

"even if they're doctors they're evil and have no right to seek better opportunities elsewhere."

Sorry, perhaps I got the wrong angle on the Burger Bar Boys and the Johnson Crew. Perhaps just rival medical doctor groups jousting over prevailing fees.

Maybe you missed my point.

England allowed these Caribbean and Muslim thugs to come into their country. What contribution are they making to the quality of life there? Is Britain a safer and more peaceful country since allowing large numbers of Carribean and Pakistani peoples into its country? Are you saying that Japan or any other society that wants to retain its culture and heritage by limiting immigration is "evil"?

More and more I tend to think that homogeneous societies like Japan have a lot going for them.

I disagree.

America's ability to absorb various peoples and cultures has been an enormous benefit over time.

Multiculturalism is a cancer indeed.

But having different people in America does not lead to multiculturalism. Having Marxist white university professors does.

ALL immigration should be regulated, not just from 'third world' countries as you say. I would not be here either if YOUR advice was paid attention to. Sometimes I don't why I still post at FR.

"EXACT same -- elitist, racist, bigots who were flip side of the same coin....They KNEW that although Donahue was wrong,..."

How was he wrong? I don't see where one group of elitist racist bigots is any more right than the other. Perhaps I read this wrong because otherwise I agree with your post.

This is a tragedy; there is nothing good to say about it and nothing amusing about it.

Letisha Shakespeare has got to be the most poetic name since Patrice Lumumba.

"ALL immigration should be regulated, not just from 'third world' countries as you say. I would not be here either if YOUR advice was paid attention to. Sometimes I don't why I still post at FR."

I agree, cyborg, ALL immigration should be regulated. There should be NO illegal immigration to this country. And legal immigration should be strictly restricted to very small numbers. (It's not like we're about to run out of people here.) Only a relatively small number of highly intelligent, highly educated, specially trained people whose job skills are needed here should be invited in. We're up to the eyeballs already with bricklayers, lawn care types, etc.

I don't know you well enough to know if you would be invited in under the immigration rules I would like to see in place. But two points: 1) I'm sure that even if you weren't, you would make an important contribution to your native country, and 2) none of us have the right to live in someone else's country if that foreign country's immigration laws don't permit it. (My understanding is that even Mexico, which uses the US for a dumping ground, doesn't allow hoards of Central Americans to immigrate there.)

Sorry to hear that you may not want to post just because everyone doesn't line up with your views on this topic.

Just remember most of Europe including Britain have looked at the USA as being racist and themselves enlightened
