Is this the same Mike Pence that signe on with Lugar to "define" who can report the news?
For what it is worth, there is one name on that list that I would vote for.

No, you are confused.He is not saying who can or can't report the news.Whoever, if you want protected status and whistleblower protection you need to be a pro.The press means press.Freedom of the press means freedom of the press.I have a blog.I am NOT a journalist.If I got paid or was trying to get paid for it,then I would be a journalist.I HAVE freedom of speech,but I do not have the right to a protected status for whistle blowers.

You are severely confused.Mike Pence is second to none in protecting first amendment rights.You seem to not have a clear understanding of the bill.Pence is simply duplicating at the federal level the shield law in 31 states.He is doing this because a free press is one of the most important rights we have and it is starting to be infringed upon by judges.A free press is the ONLY check on corrupt government in real time.
