I too hope for her salvation, but don't consider the Apocrypha inspired text, so using it to write of Christs life is a bit of artistic license. No offense, just not catholic.
I do know this, there are allot of people coming to know about Christ these days.

LOL....I can get good jazz elsewhere and already know how to cook cajun....Louisians has more than one bijou and so does East Texas. New Orleans can drop off the face of the map for all I care.

"But as time went by, her novels got much too sick to read."Yep. I read her early vampire books, of which Queen of the damned was the best...but quit after finishing the first "Thrasher" book. I knew about her daughter before the Thrasher series, but after reading the first one of those, knew she was pandering to her gay audience rather than looking for virtual immortality for her lost child.

Article does not say she has been born again. It says she returned to the Catholic Church.

Isn't this one of the signs of the impending apocalypse? EVERYTHING is a sign of the impending apocalypse...

"Hey, if Alice Cooper can become a Christian, somebody like Anne Rice shouldn't be that big a surprise."Anbd Charles Manson. If it's true, I wish her well....but more likely she's just trying to sell books. She's too been divorced from reality too long to find her way back through the mental laberynth she created for herself.

Well, we shall see. Perhaps she will make a good story out of the genuine traditions preserved among the Copts, rather than using gnostic sources.

She can cite scholarly authority for giving her Christ a birth date of 11 B.C., and for making James, his disciple, the son of Joseph by a previous marriage. But she's also taken liberties where they don't explicitly conflict with Scripture. No one reports that the young Jesus studied with the historian Philo of Alexandria, as the novel has itor that Jesus' family was in Alexandria at all. And she's used legends of the boy Messiah's miracles from the noncanonical Apocrypha: bringing clay birds to life, striking a bully dead and resurrecting him. Different day...More Garbage

"Wait and see" would be appropriate advice in this case.

Anne Rice was going to be the female Stephen King but she was a one-subject wonder. Happens to a lot of writers after they have their first success, so maybe she's decided she doesn't want to do it anymore. But heck, even Stephen King isn't Stephen King these days.

I worry that people will begin to think she may be actually "speaking" for the Lord. Look at how many people now worship at the feet of Dan Brown, post da Vinci code.

I know that she had a son who died, or was murdered.
That happened in my husband's family, and the woman who was the mother was completely unhinged. She remained Lutheran, but added some bizarre elements to her faith...

The movie version of Interview with the Vampire is actually OK. The movie version of "Feast of All Saints" is also OK. The book is unreadable.
Give me Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child for gothic weirdness that's pageturning.
