A few days ago, during the discussion on that WW2 aviator whose body was found in the galacier, someone posted the fact that more than 13,700 American servicemen were lost in aerial training accidents during WW2.
Don't forget that the attack on Pearl Harbor only lasted two hours, yet it cost the lives of 2,403 Americans.
