The word is out that some illegals come here, not to work, but to visit relatives living in the United States. At the end of their visit, they will turn themselves in to the government so they can get a free ticket home.
There is one fact few have mentioned. Without some sort of punishment of the illegals, the illegal immigration problem will never go away. I propose a 10 year sentence of indentured servitude to the United States Government. The government can then "rent" out the illegals to private businesses for, say, $10-15 per hour, to pay the expense of enforcing the illegal immigration laws. When their sentence if over, the illegals will be sent back to their country of origin. Businessmen who hire illegals directly (not from the government) will receive the same sentence as the illegals.
Without some sort of punishment of the illegals, the illegal immigration problem will never go away.
Well said. Many in Washington are working feverishly to constuct complicated programs that will never work--all because they fail to grasp that simple fact.
Sir, you have been found guilty of employing persons who entered and lived illegally in the United States. I sentence you to a period of 20 years in the Death Valley Maximum Security Labor Camp. I also order that your business be confiscated, and sold to the highest bidder. The proceeds of the sale shall be placed in the general fund. to be redistributed to taxpayers.
That should do it.
