Zawahiri urges Muslims to aid quake victims

Al-Qaida’s second in command Ayman al-Zawahri urged Muslims to help Pakistan’s earthquake victims despite the country’s close ties to the United States.

He was speaking in a video aired on Al Jazeera television on Sunday in which he sat next to an assault rifle.

“I call on all Muslims and Islamic charity organizations in particular to go to Pakistan and give a lending hand to the victims there,” Zawahri said on the tape. "We all know that (President Pervez) Musharraf's government is an agent of the United States but despite that I call on all Muslims to run to the help of their brothers in Pakistan."

This makes me think that the earlier letter released before the voting in Iraq and then claimed by the MSM to probably be a fake might be true. Maybe Zawahiri is understanding PR.

Very doubtful - Zawahiri and UBL are most likely still along the border region of Afghan / Pak / China -

Giving safe harbor to UBL or Zawahiri makes little sense for Iran - It only assures a U.S. Military response with the full backing of a majority of the American public (the last thing Iran wants or needs) -

As for UBL and Zawahiri neither have a history of putting themselves at the mercy of a Country with a strong centralized Gov't (which is exactly what Iran has) - Furthermore the border region offers more protection then does Iran (without having to be nothing more then a pawn).
