There is water up to the 3rd floor of some hotels.

Update from The Weather Channel: The resort town of Playa del Carmen has been destroyed.

That's what I thought I had heard. Again, I'm not surprised. It was in that western eyewall for several hours while Wilma stalled over Cozumel. That eyewall was right on the Yucatan coast for three hours or so. A double eyewall, too.

Geez...I used to take the ferry across from Cozumel and make landing there and drive on inland and do my own archaeological searches...lots and lots of undiscovered stuff on the Yucatan.
