I'm pretty sure that they took down Nelson's statue, and replaced it (temporarily, I believe) with a smaller statue of either a homeless person, or some nameless indian.

This would have been a month ago.

I hadn't heard that, and it's somewhat surprising. As far as I knew, Lord Nelson was one of the few British heroes whose reputation is considered completely above reproach.
