"Responding to these and other atrocities, a class action lawsuit was filed Oct 18 in Los Angeles on behalf of hundreds of undocumented immigrants living throughout the United States."

IIRC a class action requires named plaintiffs, and if that's the requirement - this will be thrown out. It is not law enforcement's duty to keep a lawbreaker safe while committing their crime. It is, however, their duty to arrest and detain them until justice is served.

Let's see...they comply with U.S. law enforcement requests for information and that means...they deserve legal status?

I think this is the assertion of the Mexican version of criminal justice and government right here in the U.S.: do the "officer" a favor, pay him a fee, do something for him, to get out of jail, reduce your fine, whatever.

I can't say I am surprised that this bastardization of law enforcement that is common place in Mexico is now rearing it's head in the U.S. by way of demands for favors and such by illegal aliens (at least from Mexico, Central America and many from South America) in the country.

Yeah, I read the article twice to see what I'd missed, having that very same question as yours: why the "arrested" aren't identified any farther than that they're in custody...seems a glaring omission of details, suggesting that they, too, may be illegal aliens.

If not that, then, yes, it's omission based upon racial characteristics. Had "six white men" been arrested for the crimes, or even one, two of them, I am SURE it'd been mentioned in the headline and then at least a paragraph at position one or two in the article about it.

Well ah duh Cheezy.

I have no love of illegals, I have no respect for illegals and if they chose to kill each other, that is their problem. Guess it has to do with I am tired of all the crime they cause.

Not worse. Unnecessary. If they weren't here the murders wouldn't have happened.

OK, but by reading your post; you can understand how one could assume that the remark you posted could be understood as follows: {I have no love of mexicans, I have no respect for mexicans}

What we need is a Constitutional amendment saying illegals shall have no Constitutional rights, nor any other rights while in the USA....gee just like they have in Mexico!

""The overarching immigration policy is very confusing. People don't know what their rights are," Lemus contends. "

If they're illegals, they have no rights...tell them to go home and STFU!

Who said anything about mexicans? Dustbunny didn't. You are assuming that all illegals are mexicans. Why is that?

Let me say it for you: I have no love of illegal mexicans. None whatsoever. If they fall through the cracks and are taken advantage of that is their problem. They should go back to mexico to fight for their own country not destroy ours or want our country to be more like theirs.

Could it be you, in error, presume such to be true because you're aware Mexicans make up the majority who blatantly disregard immigration code?

The odds are 9 of 10 illegal aliens are Mexican, so you assume all who want tougher laws against illegals are anti-Mexican. Right?

It's kind of like sticking our heads in the sand isn't it ?, Isn't the real problem that we just don't like these people because they are willing to work for such little pay and we are affraid of our own employment future ?. What is it exactly about these people that is so different from the other populace of this country ? Why so much Hate for these folks? Ok, the general discussion here is that they are illegals. As I have posted earlier in post 19, registration wouldn't be any harder than it was on Ellis Island around the turn of the century. What confounds me is what the profound excuse is for all the hate.

Who said anything about mexicans ?. Oh excuse me so very kind Sir !. My mistake. It's just that since dustbunny felt compeled to offer an opinion on a thread which contained the following statement:{The recent murders of six Mexican workers in Georgia underline various social issues facing immigrants} that I assumed the post was directed toward Mexican. Apparently I stand corrected somehow, But since we ARE on the subject. I think it owes futher discussion. Like perhaps maybe your further reasoning on the issue ?

"What confounds me is what the profound excuse is for all the hate."

But you're not confounded at illegals' blatant disregard of US law, or the effects illegals present to healthcare, education, corrections, and other social programs which increase costs to taxpayers?

If you wish to call it hate, fine. Those of us who've gone the gammot of immigration on behalf of others are HIGHLY OFFENDED illegals flaunt their stroll over the border in our face and they have the nerve to DEMAND special recognition?

Apart from basic human dignity - they deserve nothing but incarceration until deportation, period.
