Well, another article I read here isn San Diego yesterday, stated that the guy went out to pick vegetables in his garden and was startled by the deer. He did nothing but be in his backyard.
The poor wife got a fright when he came in from the garden covered in blood.

I agree with you. In this case it was stupidity of the guy picking tomatoes. It was said he walked past the 6' BUCK to get to the tomatoes, how stupid is that?

Hey genius, this was a 73-year old man who went out back to check out his tomatoes, and didn't see the buck because it was up against the house rather than out in the middle of the yard. Add to that the fact that the buck was obviously not your usual even-tempered Bambi.

And yeah, California has its share of idiots, but judging by your post, so does Texas.
