If I were Bush, here's what I would consider doing: I would not nominate anyone until late next summer just before the Congressional election campaign started. Then, I would nominate Gonzalez and watch them sweat.
What kind of drugs are you using to come up with this weird scenerio? Bush would look like incompetent fool and his approval ratings would drop below 30% if he did that.
