Oh nonsense! Miers is a hard core conservative Christian. She can stand the heat.

Perhaps you know her personally. But I dearly wish I had something she had written or said publicly at other times to allow me to be as sure.

I go to the same church group, and when she was nominated I phoned my buddy to see if any of his friends know her. It seems his father has known her since she was on the city council. His father said, "Even back then she constantly stated, 'We need to see what the city charter has to say,' and 'Our courts are out of control, and have gone too far. We need to get back to what the Founders had to say."

In our churches the members are taught to read their Bibles literally unless the plain meaning of the text clearly indicates that was not the author's intention. In other words, we read our Bibles like an originalist. Miers best friend, Nathan Hecht, has stated she reads her Bible that way, and has that view.
