A lot like unions wanting to "break the company," isn't it? Lefties haven't ever been particularly adept at envisioning the future consequences of their radical schemes.

Read Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Without giving too much away, the idea is that the leftists believe that the those who produce will come up with some way to continue producing before they are killed off. They depend on those who produce to find the solutions.
