Republican presidents have long been drawn to the “stealth strategy” on judicial nominations, picking conservatives, or supposed conservatives, without a public record so it will be harder for Democrats to oppose them.

Otherwise known as the pathetic cowardly spineless approach. Funny how Democrats don't use that strategy.

I wouldn't be as frosted about the stealth strategy as I am if it weren't a proven, absolutely consistent failure over the last 50 years. In that time Republican Presidents have put seven stealth nominees on the Court: Eisenhower (Warren & Brennan), Nixon (Blackmun), Ford (Stevens), Reagan (O'Connor & Kennedy) and Bush 41 (Souter). Every one of them either started out bad or went bad.

Now, with a Senate majority, it's time for GWB to appoint a solid originalist, like Janice Rodgers Brown. It would really be neat to seek creeps like Kennedy, Biden, and Schumer tryin to beat up on that black woman and being ahmmered by her. After they presented such a squalid spectacle of themselves on national TV, it's hard to believe the DemokRats could scrape together enough votes to sustain their fillibuster.
