You're right, sometimes people make honest mistakes, and sometimes people lie. Its up to the grand jury to decide. Then, if they indict, then its up to a judge and jury to try the case.

Six Months Later....
AP Washington DC. Close associate and right hand man for President Bush was indicted today on "one" count of perjury after it was discovered that during his grand jury testimony he lied under oath. Mr. Rove stated to the Grand Jury that on June 23 2003 he "asked for a cup of coffee and was given one". Further investigation of White House Kitchen records and grand jury testimony by Mr. Rove's secretary indicate that Mr. Rove did not receive a cup of coffee but a cup of tea that day. Although Mr. Rove was cleared of all counts in regards to leaking classified information to the public he now faces jail time and a hefty fine. Sources close to the investigation also state that President Bush may be indicted for conspiracy after it was learned this afternoon Mr. Bush also testified that on the morning of June 23rd 2003 he observed HAD observed Mr. Rove "ask for a cup a coffee and was brought one".
