Yes, Amy, they put in a pin - actually a good sized rod into her hip bone and also a plate in her wrist. The surgeon says they will be getting her out of bed tomorrow afternoon. Amazing what they can do today. As the surgeon said, the surgeries they are doing today, they couldn't do ten years ago. And the prognosis for recovery is much, much better.
She came through the surgery fine but is a little disoriented because they have moved her around the hospital so much. That will pass in time. Now we start the healing process.
GO NAVY is right! LOL However, in our family, we have Marines and Army as well, so we have to remember to be fair! (heehee)
Thank you, blackie! You have a special place in our hearts, both for your support and humor! Mr. Scubachick likes to say he is a curmudgeon at the ripe old age of 39! He also loves your tagline! As do I!
Thank you! We are enjoying the time together and as our daughter is 10 1/2 months old, she and Daddy are loving getting reacquainted!
Geez, Diver Dave, I am the one who is always a day late and a dollar short! You aren't that late at all! (Do you think the scuba has water-logged our brains?) Anyway, we thank you for the prayers and the homecoming wishes. Also the LCDR sends a salute back to you and loves your name. He is chomping at the bit to get some diving in!
Awwww!! I have an almost 1 year old (plus 3 other kids!) I can only imagine from watching my brother's kids' adjustments what it's like when Dad's gone for a long time. I'm so glad they're getting to enjoy each other again! :o)
If dogs have a heaven, I know that our pooches will be greeted with open arms. Prayers for DollyCali.
Tell Mr. SC he needs a few more gray hairs in his beard to be a curmudgeon ~ although, it's never to early to start. ;)
I'll be 75 on Wednesday and I really qualify for old curmdgeon. >:-}
You're welcome and Happy Birthday! I always tell Mr. Scubachick, if he's this crotchety at 39, what will he be like at 90?? LOL
Thanks! Four kids! That is awesome! Our hats are off to you! Children are such blessings!
39 is a crotchety age ~ once you pass 40 it gets better and when you retire. I retired at age 55 and from then on, every day is a holiday, especially if you're a motorcycle rider. ;)
Let The Good Times Roll!
Thought For The Day:
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW, what a ride!!!
Are you sure you are not related to Mr. Scubachick? Not only does he ride motorcycles, but he has your quote on his computer!!!! lol At least you gave me hope that once he turns 40, he will be less crotchety! lol
Could be ~ I spent the first 60 years of my life in California ~ moved here in '90. ;)
Lotsa lovin' cures crotchetiness in both young and old curmudgeons. ;)
