There were two anti-gun ammendments. The first required all dealers to provide a gun lock with every handgun sold, and the second ordered the Attorney General to investigate if it was feasible to create a uniform test of ammunition for piercing body armor.

Not exactly a deal breaker, either one.

"Our concern is that, to finish the analogy, just like we now have to wear the seat belt or it's an offense," Pratt continued, "so, too, we would have to lock up our firearms or it would be some kind of crime, probably a felony."

It is just a matter of time . . .

The gun lock amemdment is somewhat of a mute point. Every gun I have puchased in the last couple of years has ALREADY come with one included. The .357 Taurus I bought my sister-in-law has one integrated into the mechanism of the gun. Damn key lock was built in.

gee whiz, right after the Assault Weapon Ban sunset we do not get to use rifle bullets now? The NRA needs to have that changed.

Why am I not suprised at the NRA supporting this kind of crap? I can't wait to start seeing this in fundraising letters. Too much good news out there on the 2nd amendment front. They can't gin up donations unless they have people scared.

This bill is four steps forward and one step back. The trigger lock isn't that big of deal as long as I don't have to use them, and as long as the CPSC (consumer protection safety commission) isn't running the show on those. The other bad part increases penalties for AP ammo which is already illegal, and creates a wasteful study on them. We just need our guard up in 2 years when the study is complete.

I'll pay that price to ban junk lawsuits that can ban all guns through bankruptcy.

I have no problem with this. All of my guns are currently locked. A couple are also loaded. ;-)
