I support Bush and Miers unreservedly.

But, I agree with the other poster. This is real trouble. It shouldn't be. There was no underlying crime and, frankly, if Rove or Libby are charged as the New York Times article describes it would be a reckless and extreme abuse of prosecutorial authority.

But, that being said, the Democrats are clearly going to launch the Mother of all Political Battles over this. If we get Republicans jumping ship, well...

What's needed is a counter-offensive. Bush should pardon both Rove and Libby, if they're charged - along with anyone else charged.

Oh yeah...that will put an end to this political game.

However, you well know the Demonrats do nothing but spew filth in order to slime anyone. It is my hope that Pres Bush takes off the gloves and starts going on the offensive and takes command of the situations. My only complaint of Bush would be that he appears reacting to some things. He ought to take it to the Demonrats. Yet there are a lot of serious things on the plate right now, so I know what he means about many things being background noise.

If there are indictments, just remember that the entire case is built on a lie told by Joe Wilson: "I went to Niger for Dick Cheney."

Ever since Bill Clinton was impeached, the Dems have been salvating for their own pound (or two) of flesh.

Why the hell would he do that??? That would be the worst move possible. If they are indicted, they need to step aside. As this is Cheney's chief of staff, the VP might have to go as well.

The only way Bush salvages (assuming indictments are handed down) this is if he puts
Condi in at VP which would set her up nicely for the Republican nomination for 2008.

Even if they were the sources as Cooper and Miller say Libby and Rove didn't name Plame. Unless Fitzgerald has gone way off the reservation then what is he going to charge them with? I'm supposing that they are both smart enough not to lie to a GJ, say you can't recall but don't lie. They should have learned that from the Clintons.

If Rove and Libby are indicted, and subsequently Fitzgerald tries to pressure them to implicate Bush and/or Cheney there is one thing you can bet the farm on, Rove and Libby are loyal to the end and will never talk.

I would gladly see Bush taken down as a result of a Rove-Libby indictment. It would serve him right for stabbing conservatives in the back by nominating Harriet Miers.
