These threads are ones I look forward to every week. I so want to be there to help. I even tried to talk my BIL into coming out to help you guys. He said, "Are you kidding? I don't go to D.C. after dark." He lives in Leesburg and works in D.C. He seems to think it's too dangerous for sane people to be on the street after dark, and he's a Nam vet. I tried to tell him that Freepers are not sane when it comes to Patriotic duty. So, I do love all of you for what you are doing. Just watch your back.
Before the last of us leave the site, we always make sure that all Freepers are safely in their vehicles, or are safely delivered to the Metro stations; and the drive up to the Beltway is less than three miles, a straight shot, well lit, and well patrolled by the various localities' LEOs.
There are always armed guards at the entrance to Walter Reed and usually a Metro police car on site, since the size of our group has grown.
