"See how easy it is to be dismissive and condescending of the accomplishments of others?"

That's what's bugging me. Here we have an accomplished woman willing to serve her country on the court. Until now she's been respected by all her peers. Then suddenly whamo....she's a "cleaning lady." It is not right to treat people that way.

I agree. There seems to be an acceptance of the RAT slime machine tactics for eviscerating opponents when it comes to Harriet Miers. She deserves her hearing and a vote and for some reason those opposed to her nomination are deathly afraid of letting the process play out.

No it's not right. But, it is the administration that has been treating her that way. Most of knew absolutely nothing about her; we are not the ones who decided that her most notable attributes were her attention to detail, religious preference, bowling score, or her position on Roe. I would welcome a discussion of her professional attributes; lets get into her published legal record; lets see proof of a sharp legal mind at work. We have been asking for evidence for weeks, and we have been shown nothing more then a couple of fluff pieces and a few one sentence notes. None of the evidence so far would distinguish her from 10 million other Americans. What, other then her friendship with GW Bush, makes this woman special?
