I've been searching around the Web for information on engine controllers and stumbled across this company. I'm not vouching for the technology, but it sure looks pretty cool: more power, fewer parts, better efficieny and emissions vs. a traditional IC engine.

Thanks for posting this, found it interesting. The thread has turned into a Wankle thread but that is also interesting.

Just the other night I came across the Stelzer engine while surfing the net (was actually looking for info on an old motorcycle may dad had with a twingle engine, thats another story) and came across it. I was wondering how they would get power out of it since there was not a rotation to harness. The link shows an animation of how it works and I wonder if it is at the heart of this engine? Scroll down about two thirds of the way:

That's really cool. Heaven forbid that American auto makers engage in any inovation. They'll probably thumb their noses at this.

you need to read this; don't feel bad, I had to look at it for 10 minutes before I understood how it works.

Engine mounts need to be substantial, but with more cylinders, this problem goes away.

Note that it is in a racing car this weekend.

Take a look at the schematic, the weak link has got to be the drive belt. Looks like the setup the Wrights had to drive the two props on their original flyer.
