I have a cat which is supposedly part desert lynx. He's certainly different - wilder - than any other cat I've had. We had to board him for a week and they had to sedate him... so I'm already stressing out about how we care for him next time. He looks a lot like this young man's cat.

Getting a professional pet-sitter to come in, maybe every other day, while you're gone might work. I did that for my two cats, when I took a 10-day trip to help a friend move back to California from Kansas City, Missouri. I had long-term feeders, but the pet-sitters would come in, scrape the litter boxes, feed the beasties, etc. They even washed some dirty dishes, to my great surprise. My beasties weren't wild, but they were kinda shy with strangers.
