Louis Farrakhan's "Millions More Movement" explains on its Web site that "It's time for our leadership to stop acting solely on behalf of our churches, mosques, temples, synagogues, and organizations. It is time for us as leaders to come together and begin to think, plan, and act on behalf of the whole of our people."
What it should really say: "When the Republican president's polls get shaky, it's time for the demagogues to come to Washington."
Do poor blacks really need to hear "millions more" excuses why black men can't be faithful to one woman and be responsible for the children they bear? Or why they can't get an education because white people hate us?
Do poor blacks really need another venue for hip-hop multimillionaires to explain, in four-letter epithets, that blacks suffer because George W. Bush doesn't care about them? This while these moguls get richer by the day peddling black booty on BET, inspiring black kids to live the life that guarantees to keep them poor?
Despite Farrakhan's supposed objective to "empower" poor folks, he should understand, as more and more blacks are beginning to understand, that he, and other long-standing traditional black leaders, really promote quite the opposite.
Poor blacks do not need to be "mobilized" to turn even more responsibility for their lives over to others. They need to go to school and take care of their families. The place where this needs to take place is within a couple-mile radius of where they live. It certainly won't take place on the National Mall in Washington.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Poor US blacks need a REFORMATION, and a belief in themselves. Poor African blacks need a country, good governance, educational opportunities, professional opportunities, a better spiritual belief system, etc. Poor is a relative term.
What were those three rules I heard Laura Ingraham announce a few weeks ago? 1) Finish high school; 2) don't get anyone pregnant or don't get pregnant; 3) I CAN'T REMEMBER THIS ONE!
Ms. Star said it all just right, however. Quit whining and get working.
With the possible argument on good governance, what in this list do they not already have, or have access to?
"Poor US blacks need a REFORMATION, and a belief in themselves. Poor African blacks need a country, good governance, educational opportunities, professional opportunities, a better spiritual belief system, etc"
Its called America - blacks have every opportunity to better themselves in fact they have more opportunity - every program out there is waiting to give them money and even colleges will allow them to enter with scores below other races. What blacks need is to take some responsibility for the behavior and realize the slave master is the same as it ever was - its called a democrat. Democrats got smart along time ago and realized that most blacks would not be able to figure out or would be easily intimidated into voting to keep them in power. Just pay off a few prominant blacks and keep them screaming about hating the white man and bingo - endless servitude.
I should say so!
They are rapidly running out of excuses as it is..they need some we have not seen through yet...

It's a chance to hear more about numerology and spaceships.
The third rule was to "subscribe to Laura365!"
For starters, the knowledge to know what is need to increase the quality of their lives and the confidence to put-in the hard work to attain it. Specifically, the best way to assess the different countries is via:

under the country profiles tab.
I live very near to Africa and visit there regularly. As an American, one should feel proud as there are many US AID contracts to educate young women in rural areas. However, hopelessness is abundant and ubiquitous.
Having worked as a contractor for the US Air Force, African American scientist and engineers have performed very, very well and are thus respected.
Therefore, one should focus on what America has and what Africa doesn't, for the development of their citizenry.
I constantly wonder about the taking of Muslim names by ethnic groups, as the Muslims were among the first slave traders, walking the lack Africans out of Africa East, with the Koran supporting slavery.
The perception in the United States educational systems (schools) is that the United States was totally responsible for the transporting and slave out of Africa. The true History is that the United States had little , if anything , to do with the removal of slaves from Africa. Of all the slaves out of Africa 5 percent arrived in the what is now the United States.
Just pay off many prominent black reverends and keep them screaming about hating the white man and bingo - endless servitude.
I fixed it for ya, free of charge!
THE FIRST THING THEY SHOULD DO IS STOP KILLING EACH OTHER.
Forgot to mention in Africa, the slave trade still exists. Go figure.
To tell the truth, I could care less about anyone other than Americans and those that choose to support and assist us.
After decades of foreign aid, community aid, charity, and other support, most of the poor countries of the world hold the USA in contempt and repay us with outright hatred. Screw them all.
As the saying goes, 'My give a damn is busted'.
I listened to him a few minutes and all I heard was what the government needed to do for them. Nothing about helping themselves. And the cycle continues.
thanks - I like your fix.
Hmm.
Biblewonk, help me remember why you're suspended. Did you type something worse than this?
and as we use to say in New Orleans "...busted and cannot be trusted". I tend to agree. Especially after IRAQ and our sacrifices.
