Well, I made sure to wait until she had most of the "signs of readiness" down, at eighteen months -- she stayed dry at night; she could go more than 2 hours without a pee, she could verbalize...

My son, at 20 months, is not showing ANY of those signs yet, and I'm getting a LOT of pressure from the in-laws. Once he shpws 'em, we're off and running.

But I admit that I AM a stay-at-home during the day, and I teach at night, when DADDY can be home and hold down the fort. Our sitch is unique, and we're lucky.

That's where my daughter is now with my grandson. He's about 19 months and has started letting everyone know when he needs the bathroom. She got him a potty chair this week and training pants and if he's as easy as my two were he'll be completely potty trained by the first of the year. My two were both potty trained by 2 and with no hassle at all.

I can't see me potty training an infant though.

My kids were all three when they potty trained, not that I didn't try by sitting them on the toilet regularly. However, with three small kids at home at one time, it was not worth the aggrevation to fight it. They could win. When they finally trained, it was easy; they did it themselves and had virtually no accidents. It only took about a week.
